30 days of life

Happy 1st month to our little Zoey.

You have brought us so much joy already Zoey. Your dad and I couldn't be more grateful that you have joined our family, These first 30 days have been challenging as we are learning how to be parents and they have been wonderful as we have loved getting to know you, hold you, kiss you, cuddle you, serve you and laugh at all the adorable things you do. You have brought us complete JOY! Well this month has been full our alot of firsts for all of us. For you, we saw your first smile. Your smiles melt my heart, especially in the wee hours of the morning. We had your first doctor appointment the day after we brought you home. (Came home the evening of Monday the 21st and your first dr. apt. was at 10am on Tuesday the 22nd). We were late. You weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. You had your first blow out the next day... that was just the first of many! My favorite blow-out happened just the other day. Dad was about to change you bc we heard a few good poops and we thought you had finished. He laid you on the mat to change you and before we knew it you pooped again. It came out of both sides of your diaper, like a mustard fountain, dripping onto the bed and somehow got on your hand and then your head. We ended up just putting you in the bath. Which we finally got you to like this month too. You're the Best Zoe Zoe.
You had your first holiday, Thanksgiving. You got sick for the first time already :(. this broke our heart. We took your temperature constantly, just waiting for your fever to break, we were so worried. Daddy gave you your first blessing, blessing you to get well and you did. You met all of your aunts and uncles this month. Christina made it from Hawaii just in time. You also had many other visitors too. Some of my favorite things you do are your many faces. You make the best faces, even your pediatrician agrees. You have so many but to name a few, you have a pirate face, many fat faces, the biggest yawn, you wrinkle one side of your nose, a surprised cross-eyed face, a possessed face and the best are your smiley faces. Another thing you do, is grunt. Haha. Anytime anyone tries to pick you up while you're asleep, you'll grunt at them. When you sleep your favorite position is on your back with your head to the left and your arms above your head. You love to look at lights and anything bright. You are so alert. You wiggle all the time. I know when you are ready to feed bc you sniff alot and fast or kick your arms and legs as fast as possible. We have given you a few nick names, Zoe-Zoe (jack's fav), Miss-Z, Baby girl, girlfriend, wiggle worm and Z-bug.
We love you with all our heart! Each day we can't believe you are ours and each night we thank Heavenly Father you are. We feel so lucky to be your parents. Happy 1st month baby girl.
